We enjoyed a return visit to Germany in October 2023 to visit world-class fossil sites and volcanic landscapes. Our group enjoyed a tour which started and ended in Frankfurt, taking in a variety of sites on the way! This is the day-by-day trip diary with a selection of the best photos.
Once again, we enjoyed a geological tour of the Canary Islands in the winter sun! The tour started on Tenerife, with time also spent on La Gomera and La Palma. There were many highlights, but standing on the summit of Mount Teide is hard to beat! This is a day-by-day account of our trip.
We returned to Morocco for an eighth time in November 2023 and took another journey across the High Atlas, viewing many fascinating sites on the way. From trilobites to mineral mines and from dinosaur bones to stromatolites, we saw it all! This blog includes our favourite photos from this year’s trip.
Our first tour of 2024 took us back to Oman. Our group enjoyed an awe-inspiring adventure through the country’s best geological sites. From ophiolite to sheath folds and from pillow basalts to the Moho, the journey was rich with geological wonders. A fantastic time was had by all!

We were very fortunate with the weather and we saw a wide variety of geological sites, including Hutton’s Unconformity at Siccar Point, arguably the most important geological site in the world…! In November 2022, we took a group of intrepid travellers on our “Trilobite’s Sahara Kingdom” geological tour of Morocco. Our 10-day trip across the Atlas mountains to the Sahara Desert was not only a trilobite extravaganza but also took in a dinosaur discovery site, mineral mines and various historic sites. This is a summary and selection of the best photos from the trip.
We returned to Germany in October 2022 for our “Volcanoes and Famous Fossil Sites” tour. The sites didn’t fail to impress! Our group was able to enjoy some exceptional fossil specimens in various museums, as well as visiting fossil discovery sites and searching for their own fossils. Visits to Ice Age caves and volcano sites rounded off a fantastic trip! We look forward to returning next year!
A trip diary from our geological journey through Oman. In March 2022, seven intrepid geo-travellers joined us to explore the geological marvels this wonderful country has to offer.
We returned to the Canary Islands in January 2022 to lead our geological tour of these wonderful volcanic islands. As well as the usual geological features we see, this year, we were also able to view the impact of the recent volcanic eruption on La Palma and to see the new lava on the island.
