In June 2023, we returned to Scotland to run our ‘Birth of Geology’ tour. We were very fortunate with the weather and we saw a wide variety of geological sites, including Hutton’s Unconformity at Siccar Point, arguably the most important geological site in the world…! Scotland 2021
We returned to Scotland in June 2021 to once again explore its world class geology. Our small group tour saw the first identified thrust fault, dinosaur footprints, the first recognised unconformity, spectacular basalt columns, and much, much more!
Scotland 2019
In July 2019 we led our Geology of Scotland tour for the fourth time. Scotland has incredibly diverse geology – it was here that the enormity of geological time was first envisaged, the first attempts to measure the mass of the Earth were made, Thrust Faults were discovered and middle Jurassic Dinosaurs roamed.
