We’re always in for a volcanic treat when we visit Italy and our 2024 trip did not disappoint! Staring in Naples and making our way down to Sicily we visited many wonderful volcanic sites and world-class archaeological remains. Our photo diary is a chance to share some of our favourite photos of this most beautiful and interesting of destinations.
In January 2025, we ran our “Ocean Crust & Mountains of Mantle” trip in Oman for the seventh time. Our group were treated to an itinerary which included snowball earth deposits, mega sheath folds, ophiolite, moho and much, much more. As well as enjoying the world-class geology, we also experience warm Omani hospitality, making this a trip to remember!
We enjoyed a return visit to Germany in October 2023 to visit world-class fossil sites and volcanic landscapes. Our group enjoyed a tour which started and ended in Frankfurt, taking in a variety of sites on the way! This is the day-by-day trip diary with a selection of the best photos.
In June 2023, we returned to Scotland to run our ‘Birth of Geology’ tour. We were very fortunate with the weather and we saw a wide variety of geological sites, including Hutton’s Unconformity at Siccar Point, arguably the most important geological site in the world…! This is a photo record of our trip.
